I Love Alpacas: From Zero to 120,000+ Monthly Viewers in 6 Months

A brand-new social media presence. No content history. A modest ad budget. Six months later, I Love Alpacas was reaching over 120,000 people a month across three platforms and driving thousands of visitors to their website every single month.

The Starting Point

When we kicked off in January 2026, I Love Alpacas had 51 Facebook followers, zero Instagram followers, and zero TikTok presence.

The organization is funded by alpaca farmers across the U.S., and that same farming community is the content engine.

We built a strategy around crowdsourcing real footage and stories from the people who live this life every day. Authentic, unpolished, and genuinely interesting to anyone who's ever seen an alpaca and thought "I need more of that in my life."

They have locations in Vermont and Maine, a tight-knit team, and a customer base of dairy, poultry, and pork farmers who value relationships over flashy ads.

After 6 Months

The audience grew fast and stayed.

By the end of Q2, they had 2,197 Facebook followers, 1,010 on Instagram, and 1,392 on TikTok.

Unique viewers (beyond followers) of their content averaged 121,445 per month by the end of Q2.

That's growth and real community forming around a niche they genuinely care about.

People weren’t just scrolling past.

Engagement rates of 6-7% across all three platforms consistently ran well above the industry average of 1%.

Higher engagement means the content was actually resonating. Not just being seen. Being liked, shared, saved, and responded to.

Website traffic delivers the real results

In December, before we launched, social media sent 36 people to the website.

By Q2, social was driving an average of over 3,200 visitors to the site every single month.

That's the number that matters. Not followers or views. People landing on the site, learning about alpacas, and taking action.

They got all of this on a modest budgest.

Total ad spend across Meta and TikTok averaged around $500 per month combined. By Q2, the Meta click-through rate had climbed to 4.55%, more than four times the industry benchmark of 1%.

The Takeaway

I Love Alpacas didn't have a big budget or a head start. What they had was a clear strategy, content that came from the heart and a consistent presence across the right platforms.

Six months in, they're reaching hundreds of thousands of people, driving thousands of website visitors every month, and building a community that actually engages.

That's what a content strategy built for the long game looks like.
